With the 2009 POWERless Energy Competition approachings its halfway mark, the Chandler and Danieley C residence halls continue to lead in a contest that measures which buildings can best reduce their electricity use. Four weeks remain in the competition.
The building champion from POWERless 2008 – Loy G,H,I – has fallen behind other competitors.
The North Area still has a strong lead over the other Division I areas with 31.4% energy reduction. In Division II, The Danieley Center continues to dominate with 16.9% energy reduction. The area champion from POWERless 2008, the Loy Center, has slipped to 3rd place in Division II.

Tip of the Week: Unplug electronics and appliances when you are not using them, especially over vacations and breaks. They continue to draw power even when switched off; this is referred to as a ‘phantom load.’
