Charles Irons, an assistant professor of history, is giving an April 7 reading at UNC Chapel Hill as part of the Southern Historical Collection Book Series.
His book, “The Origins of Proslavery Christianity: White and Black Evangelicals in Colonial and Antebellum Virginia,” was published last year by UNC Press. Irons’ reading is on the same topic and begins at 5:45 p.m. in Wilson Library.
The event is free and open to the public. A reception is scheduled for 5 p.m.
