Stephen Futrell, an associate professor and chair of the Department of Music, has been invited to serve as the repertoire and standards chair for jazz choirs for the Southern Division of the American Choral Directors Association.
Futrell’s responsibilities will include submiting articles relative to vocal jazz to the Southern Division newsletter and leading at least one interest session at the Southern Division Conference in Memphis, Tenn., in the spring of 2010. He currently serves as R&S chair of jazz for the North Carolina State Chapter of ACDA.
