Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright discussed a wide range of foreign policy issues at a news conference on campus prior to her March 31 Convocation address. She praised the work of President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, but said they are facing not just foreign policy headaches, but the "whole emergency room."
Albright said the world financial crisis has trumped all other foreign policy issues and changed the diplomatic environment. She also said the question of nuclear arms development by Iran must be dealt with by a multilateral effort, rather than by the United State alone.
