Sullivan publishes article on Spring’s Stirrings

John G. Sullivan, Powell Professor of Philosophy Emeritus, has published an article titled “Spring’s Stirrings: The Art of Being a Beginner,” in the spring 2009 issue of Itineraries, the electronic journal of the North Carolina non-profit organization, Second Journey.

Catherine Dunham named associate dean for academic affairs at Elon University School of Law

Professor Catherine Ross Dunham has been named Elon University School of Law’s Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Since arriving at Elon Law in 2006, Dunham has taught courses in Civil Procedure, Appellate Advocacy, Pre-trial Litigation and other courses in the law school’s Trial Practice Program. Dunham also serves on the faculty of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and teaches in regional and national advocacy programs.

Founders Day ceremony honors Isabella Cannon ’24

Known as “the little old lady in tennis shoes” when she made history as the first female mayor of Raleigh, N.C., Isabella Cannon ’24 led a life of leadership that still stands as a model for Elon students to follow, current school leaders said March 10 in a Founders Day ceremony to honor the late alumna.

The Isabella Cannon Centre for International Studies (ICCIS) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2009 Study Abroad Essay and Photo Contests. Please congratulate these students for their writing and photography! All the photography entries are still on display at the ICCIS (Carlton First Floor). Please come by during office hours (8 am - 5 pm) March 31-April 14 and view all the wonderful entries and to vote for the Viewers’ Choice Category. The winner of the Viewers’ Choice category will be announced on April 15.
