As part of the worldwide “100 Hours of Astronomy” star party in celebration of the International Year of Astronomy, the Elon University Physics Department and the Alamance County Astronomy Club will be hosting an evening of stargazing from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. on April 3 at Northeast Park.
We will have several telescopes for viewing craters on the Moon, the rings of Saturn, and the Orion Nebula. Students will also pointing out constellations and displaying astronomy posters.
This event is free and open to the public. If cloudy weather forces us to postpone the stargazing, we will reschedule for Sunday, April 5. Please call 336-278-6328 after 7 p.m. to find out if we will indeed be having the event.
