Ten Elon students attended the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival this weekend in Durham in a trip that was sponsored by elondocs.
Students Erin Barnett, Max Cantor, Conor Britain, Colin Havey, Brian Meyer, Travis Mitchell, Amy Reitnouer, Timothy Johnson, Alex Trice and Tyler West participated in the Full Frame Fellows program, which gave them access to all of the film screenings and special Fellows panel discussions featuring direct cinema pioneer D.A. Pennebaker and Oscar-nominated documentarian James Longley.
The elondocs students and faculty members Brooke Barnett, Ray Johnson, J. McMerty and Nicole Triche saw a wide range of local and international documentaries, including Grand Jury winner “Burma VJ” and Audience Award winner “The Way We Get By.” Triche, who is also on the Full Frame selection committee, was pleased by the student turnout.
“It was wonderful to see the students taking full advantage of the Fellows opportunity,” Triche said. “Not only did they see films and attend panels, but they also introduced themselves to filmmakers and made contacts.”
