Michael Skube, associate professor of communications, wrote a review of "The Future of Liberalism" by political scientist Alan Wolfe for the April 5 edition of the Raleigh News and Observer.
From Skube’s review: “Wolfe argues that ‘liberal’ – a word much-maligned in American politics for the past generation – has in fact been the characteristic nature of our national experience. It was true of the nation’s Founders, and it is even true, Wolfe contends, of lesser figures today who make political hay deriding liberals and liberalism. One of the virtues of Wolfe’s book is its wide-ranging reference to writers and political thinkers past and present.”
