Senior Brian Beaty won the best poster presentation award at the 34th Annual West Coast Biological Sciences Undergraduate Research Conference held at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego on Saturday, April 18.
Beaty’s presentation focused on his research regarding silencing talin, a protein, in human cells and the impact on the cell cycle. His work was recognized among students from universities including the University of California at Los Angeles, the University of California at Santa Barbara, the University of Arizona, Pepperdine University and others. He was accompanied by Yuko Miyamoto, assistant professor of biology, at the conference.
