What does it take to show Elon students they may be throwing into the trash items that could be recycled? Try tearing open black garbage bags outside the Moseley Center. Members of the university’s Green Team and Sierra Club did just that Wednesday as one of several activities scheduled for Earth Week 2009.

Kenn Gaither, an assistant professor of communications, and three seniors in his international public relations capstone course were interviewed April 20 for a segment on bilingual professors on WFMY News 2, a CBS affiliate in Greensboro, N.C.

Elon's men's basketball, women's cross country, women's golf, softball and volleyball teams are among the top teams in the nation in the 2009 NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores, which were announced April 22. The Elon teams rank in the top 10 percent of NCAA Division I teams in the nation in their sports.

Jessica Gisclair, associate professor in the School of Communications, presented "Perceptions of Beauty and Self in China's X-Generation" to the Asian Popular Culture Division at the PCA/ACA Conference in New Orleans April 10.
