Elon University Department of Music presents Music in the Quad with the World Percussion Ensemble and the Electric Ensemble

A dual program and outdoor celebration will begin with the World Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Jim Roberts, performing African-inspired music and featured works by Babatunde Olatunji, the artist considered the single most important contributor to African hand drumming in the United States. They will be joined by guest artist Quint Lange, who performed with Olatunji, and was his colleague at Omega Institute for Holistic Studies in New York. At 6 p.m., the Electric Ensemble, directed by Todd Coleman, performs Retro Rock, a program of music from the 70s and early 80s.
