Katie Galbraith, a 2007 Elon MBA graduate and chief hospital operations and business development officer at Durham Regional Hospital has received one of Triangle Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 awards.
The awards honor the most promising young business professionals under the age of 40 in the Triangle area of North Carolina. Recipients must hold a leadership role in their organization, have made significant achievements in their career in 2008 and have had substantial involvement in community service outside of their job responsibilities.
Galbraith was promoted to chief hospital operations and business development officer in March. She is responsible for developing business and operational plans to support clinical service goals. She previously held the position of chief marketing and business development officer and led marketing efforts and initiated the hospital’s strategic plan.
Galbraith graduated in 1991 with a B.S. degree in journalism from Northwestern University and in May 2007 earned her MBA degree from Elon. Galbraith is a member of the Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development, the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Lincoln Community Health Center Board.
