Elaine Durr, Elon University's sustainability coordinator, is one of five people profiled in the Triad Business Journal's special report, "Sustainability in Business," which appears in its May 29-June 4, 2009, edition.
The Business Journal interviewed the group to “illustrate the potential for growth” in the green industry.
“Campus sustainability has just exploded, and I don’t anticipate that declining anytime in the future,” Durr said. “A lot of colleges and universities have made a commitment to being climate-neutral, and they are going to continue to need staff to help them do that.”
Durr was featured along with Katie Jo Icenhower, a Realtor wtih Leap Realty; Dawn Leonard, co-founder of the nonprofit Urban Harvest; Travis Simpson, CEO of Extend Energy LLC; and Tracy Valentine, a senior accountant with Davenport Marvin & Joyce.
