In the tradition of preparing world class teachers for the 21st century classroom, the Elon University School of Education this month will host the North Carolina Teacher Academy for the 14th consecutive year.
The North Carolina Teacher Academy is a professional development program established and funded by the North Carolina General Assembly to provide the state’s teachers with the opportunity for growth in a number of areas, including cutting edge technology, best classroom practices and school leadership.
At a time when public education often suffers at the hands of a struggling economy, teacher morale and feelings of professional value are of great importance, Elon University leaders say they are grateful for the chance to provide North Carolina teachers with a setting to enjoy the benefits of a professional learning community with all the comforts of home.
Elon will host three Teacher Academy sessions during the weeks of June 21 and June 28.
