Students in the Elon in Los Angeles program will see “Oleanna,” a play written by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winnerDavid Mamet, at 8 p.m. (PST) June 23 at the Mark Taper Forum at the Music Center in downtown Los Angeles (135 N. Grand Ave.).
According to the program, “Oleanna” centers on a “complacent and confident professor about to receive tenure, a frightened and confused student desperate not to fail, a conversation full of misunderstandings and a devastating accusation.”
The play was written in 1992, and the current version at the Mark Taper Forum stars Bill Pullman and Julia Stiles. It’s directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes.
Mamet has won awards for “Glengarry Glen Ross” and “Speed the Plow.”
