Mike Sprague, a rising second year law student at Elon University School of Law, was recognized on June 22 for his successful work on behalf of a client at Legal Aid of North Carolina's Greensboro office.
In a news item that appeared on probono.net/nc, a website for pro bono and legal services attorneys in North Carolina, Sprague’s work while serving as a summer intern at Legal Aid of North Carolina is highlighted.
Assisting a client, following an unemployment benefits case, Sprague’s work led to over $9,000 of extra benefits for the client, assuming the client does not find employment before the 26 weeks of benefits expires.
The article concludes, “Congratulations to Mike for making such a positive difference in the life of his client — and to Elon University School of Law and the LANC-Greensboro Office for producing a great future legal champion for financially disadvantaged persons.”
