Elon University Provost Steven House visited with students and alumni in Los Angeles July 17-23, where he attended an alumni function and spent time at L.A. landmarks with students.
House was the featured guest at the Elon in L.A. Alumni Reception at the Silent Movie Theater. More than 70 students and alumni who represented companies such as Paramount, CBS, Universal, NBC and Fremantle Media were in attendance. House connected with alumni, and current students in the Elon in L.A. program performed readings from the Elon in Los Angeles blog.
House also toured the town, visiting L.A. landmarks with students, attended a showing of “Spamalot,” the play based on Monty Python’s “Holy Grail,” with theater students, took a VIP tour of Warner Brothers Studios and attended a taping of The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien with two theater students.
House also escorted students to the world-famous Grauman’s Chinese Theater to see “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” met with alumna and NBC employee Catherine Caudle and her supervisor, Bill Connor, who has been at NBC for 29 years and is the director of the West Coast Page Program at NBC Universal Guest Relations, and attended a meeting with Nancy Robinson of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation.
