Mathew Gendle, an associate professor of psychology, and several Elon Academy scholars from summer 2009 have been featured in an instructor’s resource video produced and distributed by Carolina Biological Supply Company.
The video provides a brief overview of the sheep brain dissection exercise that Gendle completed with the scholars enrolled in his Academy class, “The Human Brain: A Users Guide.”
Started in 2006 by Elon University, the Elon Academy provides academically gifted, local high school students with the opportunity to enhance their education, build leadership skills, and develop a strong sense of social responsibility. The students have financial need or come from families with no history of college education.
Carolina Biological has donated lab dissection specimens and supplies to the Elon Academy since its inception.
