Digitized postcards preserve the past

A collection of postcards maintained by Belk Library offers a window into Elon history, from faded photos of the Old Main administration building that burned in 1923 to a newly opened Alumni Gym a quarter century later. Some of those postcards are now available for the public to view just by hopping online.
Outer Banks Sentinel: Judge releases records to Sentinel

From the Outer Banks Sentinel (7/8/09): A Superior Court judge signed a consent order on Monday ordering the Dare County Tourism Board to provide three draft settlement agreement documents to the Sentinel. The records pertained to the separation agreement entered into between the board and its former former director, Carolyn McCormick.
Elon researchers probe the memory power of gum

If the maker of Big Red and Juicy Fruit thinks its chewing gums have a monopoly on boosting your memory, it should think again. New work by Elon University faculty member Amy Overman and her undergraduate researchers show that gum itself isn’t special – any candy or oral activity probably works just as well at sharpening the mind.
