In the tenth edition of "Torts: Commentary and Materials," published by Thomson Reuters in July of 2009, Elon Law professor Helen Grant joins three Australian legal scholars to present a contemporary casebook on torts, discussing both traditional concepts as well as modern developments.
The tenth edition, written three years after its predecessor by the same authors, incorporates recent developments in Australian tort law, providing educators and students with a practical and manageable casebook.
Taking a contemporary approach to torts analysis in each major area of tort law, the tenth edition condenses the subjects, highlighting major cases and providing commentary on complex subjects to increase clarity and understanding.

Helen Grant, a native of Australia, joined the Elon University School of Law faculty in 2006. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Queensland University of Technology and a doctorate in law from the University of Queensland, both in Australia.
In legal practice, she was the presiding legal member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal in Brisbane, and also spent two years as a legal officer in the Office of the Special Prosecutor in Brisbane, investigating cases of official corruption and prosecuting government officials.
