Video Production Services hiring video production assistants

Purpose:

Video Production Assistants provide service to the University by videotaping and sound recording academic classes, cultural events, speeches, and other university related projects requested by departments, faculty, and staff. Video Production Assistants will also provide lab support for the School of Communication’s video and audio editing suites.

Job Requirements:

– Knowledge of digital video cameras sound recorders, microphones, and other production equipment
– Knowledge of editing software, Final Cut Studio and ProTools
– Posses an understanding of video and audio signal flow
– Proficient with Apple computers
– Must be able to work independently to complete sound and video projects from start to finish.
– Recognizes and combines stylization of video taping and editing
– Possesses an ability to share knowledge to benefit other students
– Works closely with the department’s Sound and Video Producer, reporting progress of assigned projects   and lab conditions.
– Displays a positive attitude in dealing with people and projects
– Seeks guidance in the absence of detailed instructions
– Meets all assigned deadlines
– Makes effective use of the Video Production Services office.
– Willingness to explore, listen, and learn
– Motivated by high standards of excellence
– Other duties as assigned

Position Reports To:  Sound and Video Producer

Training:

Video Production Services will provide job training while encouraging student assistants to achieve individual growth and development to reach full potential. Video Production Services will inspire students to acquire creative working knowledge with projects.

Compensation:

Video Production Assistant starting pay is $7.25/hour with opportunity for advancement in hourly rate.

Work Schedule:

Video Production Assistants have the opportunity to work up to 20 hours a week. Work schedules must be flexible and in balance with the demands of projects and academics.
