Dr. Janet Cope, assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy Education, joined physical therapy and exercise physiology students in publishing a recent article titled “Median nerve compression and the reversed palmaris longus” in the International Journal of Anatomical Variation.
This research was completed in collaboration with the family members of a human donor who were able to provide relevant health and lifestyle history. The group concluded that this variation of muscular attachment can contribute to symptoms of median nerve compression that may be misdiagnosed as carpel tunnel syndrome.
