Professor emeritus David Noer in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business has been cited twice in recent weeks in influential business publications.
Noer authored the lead article in the September issue of Change This. His piece,“Breaking Organizational Codependence: Downsizing’s Liberating Wake-Up Call,” focuses on the heavy price employees pay for a codependent relationship with their organization.
The article includes Noer’s self-assessment instrument that gives those who complete it a measure of the degree of their susceptibility to a codependent organizational relationship. Change This is a well-known online publication that publishes “manifestos” dealing with organizational change and development.
Noer was also quoted in a Forbes leadership column that deals with how to fire people. His quote deals with the need to be authentic and not bound by a script.
