Tammy Cobb, assistant director for community partnerships at Elon, is one of 24 local volunteers serving as leaders of the 2009 United Way campaign in Alamance County.
Cobb is co-chairing of the Education Division of the campaign, which has set a total goal of $1.65 million for the year. The Times-News published a short bio of Cobb as part of a Sept. 7 larger feature on the 2009 co-chairs.
Specific responsibilities for division chairs include the following:
· Set a division goal. The Education Division goal is $157,000, a 10% increase from last year.
· Develop a plan of action.
· Allocate tasks including recruiting new schools, suggesting campaign ideas, delivering campaign materials and follow-up.
· Track plan of action by receiving updates/offer support.
· Attend cabinet meetings, kick-off, Habitat ribbon cutting and annual meeting events.
· Thank participating schools upon completion.
