Ray Johnson, assistant professor in the School of Communications, and Betty Hatch, a former instructor in Communications, will premiere a new documentary film they produced Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Paramount Theater in Burlington.
The film, titled “Just a Guy,” is the story of David Rhodes from Davis, Calif., who became a quadriplegic at 16 but was able to finish high school and college. After college, he went to law school, and he is now an assistant attorney general for the state of California. The film primarily uses Rhodes’ own words to tell his inspirational life story.
The premiere will be part of the benefit for Friendship Adult Day Services of Burlington. The Benefit will begin at 6 p.m. and will include an art show, wine tasting and silent auction. Admission is $8 in advance or $10 at the door with all proceeds going to Friendship Adult Day Services.
