Wilhelmina Boyd, associate professor emerita of English and founder of Elon’s African/African-American Studies Program, died Saturday, October 3, 2009, four years after her retirement from the university.
Boyd taught at Elon from 1987 through 2005.
Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2009, at Soldiers Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, 306 North Church Street, Salisbury, North Carolina. The service will be at 2:30 p.m. following visitation.
