Faculty and students from the Elon University Department of Physics attended the Oct. 23-24 regional meeting of the American Association of Physics Teachers at UNC-Pembroke. The semi-annual conference brings together physics educators from universities, community colleges, and high schools to discuss teaching techniques and to review student research.
Associate professor of physics Martin Kamela discussed work he did in India in his talk “Incorporating Science into Study Abroad through Outreach.” Claudine Moreau, lecturer in physics, presented a project that she developed for her algebra-based physics courses, “The Elon Physics Phenomena Photography Project.”
Dan Glass, a junior physics major, also gave a talk, “Fabrication of Ferroelastomeric Microparticles,” describing his nanotechnology research with assistant professor of physics Ben Evans.
