Rissa Trachman, students participate in N.C. Archaeology Day

On Saturday, Oct. 17, Elon anthropology students Jennifer Burns, Connor Meehan and Melissa Wolf accompanied Rissa Trachman, assistant professor of sociology and anthropology, at the recent North Carolina Archaeology Day event at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  The event is designed to allow and inform the North Carolina public about the archaeology that is conducted around the state, as well as the many diverse research interests of local archaeologists.  The exhibit prepared by Trachman and her students included an interactive sand excavation for children and a display about ancient technology (obsidian prismatic blade production) for adults.
