Elon Law professor Henry Gabriel was the keynote speaker at the Conference on Transnational Commercial Law at the University of South Africa in Johannesburg on October 19 and 20.
Gabriel’s address, also an article, was entitled “Electronic Commerce in International Law: Where Have We Been and Where are We Going?” It will be published in the South African Mercantile Law Journal.
In the article, Gabriel discusses the development of electronic commerce in international law over the last fifteen years, as well as future projects that are being developed.
Gabriel was personally involved in the drafting of several of the major international initiatives, such as the recent United Nations Convention on the Use of Electronic Messages in International Contracts.
