Elon University's Public Relations Student Society of America has been selected through a competitive bid process as one of 12 PRSSA chapters from across the country to host a regional conference this spring.
The 2010 conference, “PR in 3D,” revolves around the different dimensions of the public relations profession. To present students with a 3-dimensional perspective on the industry, speakers and panelists will discuss the creative, account and client sides of PR.
Elon junior Carolyn VanBrocklin will serve as regional activity coordinator and will meet with PRSSA representatives at the PRSSA national conference this weekend in San Diego, Calif., to begin planning.
This will be Elon’s fourth regional conference in as many years. Previous conferences have focused on crisis communications, international PR and lesser-known PR career options.
PRSSA, one of the nation’s largest pre-professional organizations, aims to provide networking, educational and professional development opportunities to future practitioners. Celebrating 40 years, the organization includes 9,600 members and 285 Chapters at colleges and universities in 43 states and the District of Columbia. Visit www.prssa.org for general information on the organization.
Elon’s PRSSA chapter, established in 2003, is one of the largest in the country with more than 100 members.
