Entrepreneurship students participated Oct. 29 in The Indus Entrepreneurs of Carolina’s (TiE) networking event at the Brier Creek Country Club in Raleigh, N.C. The students networked with approximately 60 high growth and technology entrepreneurs as part of their Entrepreneurship Skills course taught by Gary Palin, executive director of the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
Gus Whalen, Jr., chairman of The Warren Featherbone Company established in 1883, was the featured speaker. Through the years Warren companies have been engaged in manufacturing, banking, agriculture, philanthropy, and education.
In 1993, Whalen reestablished the Warren Featherbone Foundation, originally founded in 1917, to increase public awareness of the importance of interdependent connections in business and society. Whalen addressed corporate transformation by adapting to change, innovation and investment in people.
