Rebecca Pope-Ruark, assistant professor of English in the Professional Writing and Rhetoric concentration, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Association for Business Communication. Her four-year term as Director-at-Large began at the end of the 74th Annual Convention held last week in Portsmouth, VA, where she was charged by the Executive Committee to lead an ad hoc committee in researching the issues faced by graduate students interested in business and professional communication. Pope-Ruark has led several ad hoc committees for the organization to date and was active in the development of the organization’s most recent strategic plan. She also presented her paper entitled “Historical Product Meets New Process: Using Publishing to Teach Professional Communication Concepts” at the Annual Convention.
