Keely Sewell, a member of the Class of 2011 at Elon Law, spent her summer in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia working with the country's First Federal Instance Court on an initiative to provide court-appointed social workers to represent the interests of children in family law cases.

Third year law student Jeb Brooks moderated an October 28 candidates forum for Greensboro's Mayoral and City Council offices, and organized two forums on city government and economic development as part of his capstone leadership project at Elon Law.

Jane Wellford, associate professor of performing arts, presented a residency of master classes and concerts Oct. 2-4, at Central Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Ga.

Three students from the Elon Academy, along with faculty members Deborah Long and Brooke Barnett, were featured guests on the Nov. 11 broadcast of "The State of Things" by National Public Radio affiliate WUNC in Chapel Hill. David Noer, professor emeritus in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, has received the Best Practice Institute’s 2009 "Leading Thinker Award" at the institute’s Nov. 11 Senior Executive Board meeting.

Thirty-five faculty and community agencies participated Nov. 5 in The Kernodle Center for Service Learning’s first Fall Campus-Community Networking lunch on campus.
