Mike Yankoski, “Under the Overpass”
LaRose Digital Theatre, Koury Business Center, 7:30 p.m.
As part of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, Yankowski will speak about his experiences, which inspired his writing Under the Overpass: A Journey of Faith on the Streets of America. After meals from garbage cans and dumpsters, Mike and his friend Sam found their beds under bridges and on the streets. For more than five months, they depended upon the generosity of strangers to sustain their existence and experienced firsthand the extreme pains of hunger, the constant uncertainty and danger of living on the streets, exhaustion, depression and social rejection.
