A seasonal tradition returns to Elon University on Friday afternoon when the annual "Turkey Trot" 5K race through South Campus doubles as a canned food drive for Loaves and Fishes Christian Food Ministry in Burlington.
The race begins at 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 on the fields behind Harden Club House. Registration remains open with the first 300 people who sign up receiving a free T-shirt and gift bag.
The entry fee is two canned goods. There will be a box to collect the goods at the Campus Recreation front desk and another one at the sign-in table the day of the event.
Forecasters predict a sunny Friday afternoon in the mid 60s with a slight breeze out of the north.
