Christina Benson, assistant professor of business law in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, had her paper, “Industry Bailouts: Will Protectionist Potholes Put a Dent in Trade and Competitiveness?” published in Competition Forum, a Cabell's peer-reviewed publication of the American Society for Competitiveness. The article appears in Vol. 7, Number 1 (2009).
Benson’s paper analyzes how specific aspects of recent auto bailout programs may violate key provisions of the WTO Agreements, and how they may actually inhibit the global competitiveness of domestic automakers. She presented her paper at the American Society for Competitiveness conference on October 30.
