Jeanne Robertson, a member of the Elon University board of trustees, was featured in the Dec. 14 broadcast of "The State of Things" on North Carolina Public Radio WUNC 91.5. Robertson spoke with host Frank Stasio about her career as a humorist and speaker, and how she approaches her work.

The Daily Beast, one of the leading new Web-based media outlets, has named Elon one of the decade's hottest colleges. The list of 15 colleges and universities ranks schools that make up a "whole new class of first-choice schools" that have "transformed the collegiate landscape" during the past 10 years.

Greensboro Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday Pops Concert – Dec. 20

A holiday program filled with seasonal favorites performed by the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra takes place Sunday afternoon in Alumni Gym with a special guest conducting appearance by WMAG 99.5's Bill Flynn, a holiday sing-along and a visit from Santa Claus. Admission is free to the 3 p.m. show with the donation of a non-perishable food item.

From the Daily Advance (12/11/09): City Council was in no danger of violating the N.C. Open Meetings Law by considering proposed taxicab rule changes at the end of the Nov. 30 joint meeting with county officials, an expert on local government procedures said this week.
