Cochran-Smith, the Cawthorne Professor of Teacher Education for Urban Schools and director of the doctoral program in curriculum and instruction at Boston College, argues that policies meant to improve teacher quality must consider the complexities of the educational context.
Cochran-Smith’s address will be based on her 2009 book, Inquiry as Stance: Practitioner Research for the Next Generation, which was co-authored with Susan Lytle.
Her visit is sponsored by the Elon Teaching Fellows, Phi Beta Kappa, Kappa Delta Pi, the School of Education and Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences.
