Steven Kinney signs with Major League Soccer team

Former Elon soccer standout Steven Kinney has signed a contract to play for Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire. Kinney became the first player in Elon program history to be drafted in the MLS last January and is the first to be signed by an MLS club after being drafted.
Elon business students compete in National Collegiate Sales Competition

Senior sales students Sarah Doggett and Jeff Allen participated in the National Collegiate Sales Competition (NCSC), held March 5-8 at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. Traveling with the students were Love School of Business professor Michael Rodriguez and Earl Honeycutt, professor and director of Elon’s Chandler Family Center for Professional Sales.

NC Open Government Coalition hosts event to honor sunshine laws; president thanks supporters

Hugh Stevens, the president of the North Carolina Open Government Coalition, expressed his gratitude to the various organizations that have supported the coalition at the beginning of Sunshine Day on March 16. The event was hosted at the International Civil Rights Center and Museum in Greensboro, N.C.

Peter Felten, director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, and Deandra Little of the University of Virginia have co-authored the article “Seeing is Believing: Visual Teaching and Learning” in the February 2010 issue of the NEA Higher Education Advocate.
Colin Donohue has Book Review Published in NRJ

School of Communications staff member Colin Donohue had a book review published in the Spring 2007 issue of Newspaper Research Journal. Donohue, the Coordinator of Student Media for the school, reviewed the book Baseball and the Media: How Fans Lose in Today's Coverage of the Game by George Castle, a Chicago Cubs beat writer for the Times of Northwest Indiana.
