Peter Felten, director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, and Deandra Little of the University of Virginia have co-authored the article “Seeing is Believing: Visual Teaching and Learning” in the February 2010 issue of the NEA Higher Education Advocate.
Little and Felten argue that “we have an obligation to help students make sense of the complex images that shape our world” and that visual analysis should be integrated throughout the curriculum. The NEA Advocate is a monthly publication distributed in print to the NEA’s more than 175,000 higher education members. The complete publication also appears free online.
