College Chapel features Bill Porter, Buddhist teacher/scholar, on April 1

The “Defining Moments” series will continue at College Chapel on Thursday, April 1, from 9:50 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. at Whitley Auditorium with a talk by Bill Porter, a Buddhist teacher and scholar.

Porter, who translates under the name “Red Pine,” is a translater and interpreter of Chinese and Sanskrit text, including poetry and Sutras.

In the series, we hear from speakers about how events in their lives have helped to define who they now are. We are challenged to consider how past events — personal and public, positive and negative — have shaped and molded our present realities.

Make plans to take a break for a few minutes each Thursday in Whitley Auditorium for presentations by faculty, staff, guest speakers and students, complimented by live music offered by talented student and faculty musicians. Music this week will be by the Saxophone Quartet. Refreshments will be served following Chapel. All are welcome.
