Perhaps no other man captures the spirit of the university better than President Emeritus J. Earl Danieley '46, who was honored at Elon's 2010 Founders Day celebrations. Danieley not only made his career at the institution and served as its sixth president but also doubles as a walking encyclopedia of all things Elon.

A letter from two Elon students to U.S. Sen. Scott Brown, in which they urge the Massachusetts senator to support legislation that funds the development of nuclear energy technology, is a finalist in a contest that will be judged April 8 by prominent former lawmakers at a Project Pericles conference in New York City.

Love School of Business assistant finance professor Neeraj Gupta was recently awarded the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Charter by the CFA Institute, after passing final level CFA exam in June 2009. The CFA Charter is the designation of excellence in the investment community for money management professionals, investors and academics.

David Noer, a professor emeritus in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, had an article headlined "Six Crucial Leadership Competencies for an Era of Downsizing" published in the spring edition of Leader to Leader.

Four Elon University students presented at an international conference in Iceland this month where Gary Palin, executive director of the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and senior lecturer of entrepreneurship in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, served as a featured speaker and moderated the plenary session launching the 2010 MIT Global Startup Workshop.
