The Summer Business Institute provides rising juniors, seniors, and May graduates in non-business majors with the opportunity to enhance their marketability. Spots remain open for the program from June 2-19, 2010, which provides participants with broad knowledge of business principles and practices.
Hands-on learning experiences ensure that participants gain skills applicable across a wide range of organizations and professions. Interactions with business and community leaders and visits to organizations to hear first-hand about the challenges and opportunities in today’s business environment round out the experience. Students will receive a certificate after successful completion of the course.
Faculty from the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business will engage students in the study of business topics including accounting, finance, management, marketing, strategy, operations and business ethics. During the Institute, participants will also develop skills in such areas as project management, business communication, selling methodologies, process improvement, leadership and team building, Excel, resume writing and interviewing.
The curriculum sessions are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, through June 19. Participants receive over 115 hours of instruction, tours, and speakers as part of the Institute.
Deadline for applications is April 30. For more information about the LSB Summer Business Institute, contact:
