Health and Human Performance faculty members, Elizabeth Bailey, Amanda Tapler and Resa Walch, presented in a tutorial session at the Southern College Health Association (SCHA) Annual Meeting in March in Columbia, S.C.
The SCHA represents professionals who provide health services and programs to members of the higher education community as part of the American College Health Association. Bailey, Tapler and Walch’s session, “Live, Learn and Play in a Required Wellness Class,” provided insight into pedagogy that enhances delivery of course content that effectively appeals to various learning styles, creating an environment that challenges students while engaging them in the learning process. The colleagues highlighted successful methods for infusing National College Health Association survey data into course content and shared assignments that include innovative, fun and engaging components aimed at teaching the interrelated nature of mind, body and spirit.
