Support recovery efforts in Haiti on Saturday, May 1, with the "Footsteps for Haiti" fundraiser at Belk Track. The four-hour event sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta and Alpha Omicron Pi begins at 8 a.m. and features games, food, live music and speakers who have visited the Caribbean nation still rebuilding from a January earthquake that killed a quarter million people.
Registration is $15. Organizers also welcome people who wish to register the morning of the event. Guest speakers include:
Tiffany Bacon: 2003 graduate of the Elon DPT program who spent a week in Haiti providing physical therapy services to children at the Love a Child Disaster Recovery Center
John McGreevy: a senior at Elon who was in Haiti during the earthquake
Show support by either registering for the walk or by donating to the cause. Visit our site and join the Facebook group. Registration forms are in the Multicultural Center and Greek Life office.
