President & Founder, School House
Rachel Weeks is a social entrepreneur and founder of School House, an ethical fashion brand focused on the collegiate market.
As a 2007-2008 Fulbright Scholar to Sri Lanka, Rachel conducted research on socially responsible apparel manufacturing initiatives and laid the groundwork for School House. Combining living wage manufacturing with a trend-driven take on university apparel, Rachel has grown the brand to include over 50 licensed university clients through a partnership with Barnes & Noble College Booksellers. School House’s living wage factory partner has been able to employee 70 individuals and counting at a rate 2-3 times prevailing industry wages in the island country.
Rachel grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina and attended Duke University on a Trinity Scholarship, where she majored in Women’s Studies. Her honors thesis explored topics pertaining to consumption and production in the fashion industry, entitled “The ‘Wonder’ Bra:
Theorizing Globalization, Women’s Labor, and Consumption for Twenty-first Century Feminism.” Her passions include social entrepreneurship, women in business, the university marketplace, and affecting change in the fashion industry.

Jessica Peterson graduated from Duke University in 2007 with degrees in English and Spanish. She was recruited on campus by Wachovia, now Wells Fargo, and has been working in Fixed Income sales at Wells Fargo for 3 years in Charlotte, NC. Jessica is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina.
