Hunter Bacot, an associate professor of political science and director of the Elon University Poll, spoke May 19 at the North Carolina Association for County Commissioners’ “Assembly Day.”
Bacot gave a preview of the 2010 election season in an event featuring Sen. Marc Basnight, president pro tempore of the North Carolina Senate, and Rep. Joe Hackney, the speaker of the house in the state House of Representatives.
Bacot also took part in the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce’s annual Government Affairs Conference on the same day. He was part of an afternoon roundtable in the recent primary election results. The roundtable will also discuss the upcoming general election.
The two appearances are the latest for Bacot in a spring filled with events. In February, he addressed the executive committee of the North Carolina Retail Merchants Association, and in April he served on a panel for the North Carolina Free Enterprise Foundation to discuss a recent Supreme Court ruling on political donations.
