Jeffrey Pugh honored as Distinguished Scholar

A renowned scholar in the field of religious studies, a respected Elon colleague and an influential teacher of Elon students for more than two decades, Jeffrey Pugh, Maude Sharpe Powell Professor of Religious Studies, has been named the 2010 Distinguished University Scholar.
April Post ’01 receives Periclean Award for outstanding community service

April Post, a 2001 Elon graduate, returned to North Carolina in 2004 and immediately made an impact in her classes, her church and for local Hispanic students and their families. In recognition of her efforts, Post, lecturer in Spanish, has received the 2010 Periclean Award.

John Burbridge participates in selection of Seymour Medal, presents at conference

John Burbridge, along with two other academics, selected the 2009 Seymour Medal recipient at the Seymour Medal Conference in Cleveland, Ohio, on May 1. The Seymour Medal is given by the Society for American Baseball Research and honors the best book of baseball history or biography published during the preceding calendar year.
