Associate professor Bud Warner will serve as Elon's first Faculty Fellow for Civic Engagement, beginning with the 2010-11 academic year.
Warner came to Elon in 2006 as an associate professor in the Department of Human Service Studies. He received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Malone College, his master’s degree in social administration from Case Western Reserve, and his doctorate in social welfare from Case Western Reserve University.
Warner previously taught at Malone University and Warren Wilson College, serving as chair of the Department of Social Work at each school, and at Presbyterian College, where he served as dean of Academic Programs and then as interim provost.
At Elon, Warner has been involved in numerous civic engagement programs. In 2007-2008 he was selected as a Service-Learning Faculty Scholar and during the 2009-10 academic year he was Service-Learning Faculty Development Fellow, filling in for Pam Kiser, interim dean of Elon College.
