Middle school students visit Elon for leadership program

Hand dryers in local middle school bathrooms would be better for the environment than paper towels. Additional electives would keep students from getting bored in class. New textbooks and laptops would be nice, too. Local seventh graders shared ideas Wednesday to strengthen their school communities as part of an annual youth leadership program at Elon University.
DPT student accepted for MS Fellowship

Elon Teaching and Learning Conference to explore future technologies and building teaching communities

The Elon 2010 Teaching and Learning Conference August 19th will tackle complex future-oriented and now-oriented topics that apply directly to college teaching. Janna Anderson from Elon will explore the Future of the Internet and implications for teaching. Joan Middendorf and David Pace from Indiana University will discuss how faculty teaching communities can help build a common language of teaching.

Alum donates Elon medal from 1893 found on eBay

For Raymond Beck ’75, the online auction site eBay is occasionally a treasure trove of Elon artifacts, and one of the latest finds for the retired North Carolina State Capitol historian and site manager was a gold medal from the “Clio” literary society engraved with the name of the man who received it as a graduate of Elon College's Class of 1893.
